I have a cold. I don't have much of a stuffy nose or cough or anything like that. I just have a really sore throat. A sore throat which makes me want to have a cough drop in my mouth at all time, and drink Extra Strengh NeoCitrin before going to bed. So, that's what I've been doing. However, the NeoCitrin before bed is causing some really strange sleeping behaviour. I become animated in my dream-state. I move around, thinking I'm awake. One night I believed I was at a photoshoot and had to pose- so I did, in my bed, with my blankets, wearing pajamas. Awake enough to know what that I was doing it, but asleep enough not be able to do anything about it. I'm drinking it tonight just to see what will happen. It's always fun to experiment with your body in an unconcious state due to the drugs you've been consuming. --- My boyfriend and I were talking tonight about who was more influential on the music industry. Kurt Cobain (who I loved and admired my entire teen years) or Trent Reznor (who I also liked, but not nearly as much as Kurt). It's strange, because he and I come from such different eras of music. When I was his age, there was very little mainstream electronica music, and now the world is full of it. Punk Rock (which I prefer over anything) is at a downfall, or should I say, becoming crappier and crappier. And this is why I hate talking about music. The bands that people hear most are those who are catchy. Easy to learn lyrics etc. My boyfriend doesn't like Sum 41, meanwhile, I've probably heard "Fat Lip" more than 100 times, and I'm not tired of it. The way they sing, the energy, the way it makes me feel makes me like it. Whereas, with him, give him some Aphex Twin and Massive Attack, and he's up and away- blissfully happy. Give me the Ataris, Saves the Day, Sum 41 ANYDAY, but there's only certian days and feelings where I can listen to electronic music and stay happy and energetic. michael said: [so and so] was saying once "i'll conect more with some punk songs than i ever ever will with a dj or techno song." and i think that too-only for me i'll connect with "hurt" more than i will with any techno stuff-hurt is like a sharing or loss or something-but techno makes me feel good about being alive. vinylflower said : hm. that's the way i feel about punk rock. michael said : oh well. i still don't like sum41 vinylflower said : and i still dont like your electronica machines |
